“Contradictory to its’ name, Women’s “artistic” gymnastics has become less and less artistic as the sports’ rules demanded more and more acrobatic skill requirements from its athletes. As coaches focused on pushing the limit with with acrobatic skills to raise the difficulty value of a routine, we must also remember to create a routine which is artistically captivating and beautiful. For any gymnast to really SHINE she MUST capture the heart of the judges and audience with her fluidity of movement and expression during choreography, especially at levels when the difficulty is not yet calculated!
“As a lover of artistic creativity, my goal is to help coaches and gymnasts maintain and enhance the “beauty” of gymnastics as the skill level rises to create an overall “WOW” factor! It is essential that a little bit of extra time is set aside during practice to teach gymnasts how to perform rather than just what to perform. In competition at any level, it is always ultimately the “how” that beats the “what”.”
Services Available
- Private workshop: A virtual, or in person 2 hour workshop for competitive gymnasts designed to bring out their “wow” factor by focusing on HOW to perform, rather than solely on “what” to perform.
- What it entails: Artistic movement training, flexibility, coordination exercises, jumps, leaps, turns, body control exercises, & learning to capitalize on your own unique style of movement.
- Who is it for: Female competitive artistic gymnasts of any level who are aiming to capture the hearts of the judges and increase their beam & floor scores!
- How to book: Have your coach contact us directly to schedule a time for your team or you can create a group with at least four gymnasts
- How much does it cost: $100 per gymnast
- Custom Choreography: Customized choreography for Xcel or WDP competitive gymnasts on beam and/or floor
- What it entails: Creation of customized, artistic routines on balance beam or floor exercise. Each gymnast will work one on one with Ashley in one-two hour blocks of time as she creates a routine to help the gymnast shine!
- Choosing music: If you already have your music selected Ashley will work with your selection but if you need help selecting a song for an additional $50 she will help find the best fit for you!
- How much does it cost: Beam routines: $300 for up to 2hrs of time/Floor routines: $500 **includes up to four hours of time, custom music selection by Ashley, and music cut cost**
- Choreography Clean Up: If you already have your choreography but want to make sure to really grasp the judges attention, Ashley can help fine tune, touch up, and give that extra sparkle to your performance.
- What it entails: A private hour of time with Ashley on beam or floor to transform your “routine” into a “performance”
- How much does it cost: $100
